Memorial Message:
Wayne passed away September 4, 2007. Even though he endured many hospital stays and countless ups and downs since being paralyzed in an auto accident years ago, he always managed to have that ornery smile on his face. His sense of humor never left him, even when things got tough. Wayne was blessed with a beautiful daughter, whom he loved more than anything in the world, and his face would just beam when he talked about her. He was also blessed with a very loving and devoted family. And friends - Wayne made friends wherever he went - it didn't matter if he knew them or not. That was the type of personality he had - never knew a stranger. Wayne was so kind that one day we were playing football in his yard with a bunch of the gang from the neighborhood, and I caught the ball. Wayne was supposed to tackle me, but couldn't do it. He walked up to me and told me to just give him the ball because he just didn't have the heart to knock me down! Of course, I didn't give him the ball and I still didn't get knocked down by Wayne (but Tom Barrett tackled me!). I still smile when I think of Wayne, because all the memories I have of him of good ones, and he could always make me laugh.
